Location : Saraswati Marg, Kamla Nagar

Patron : Sachdeva Family

Arvind Cottage is situated in the western suburb of Delhi and has been recently renovated in a freshly painted facade, which was originally in an off white colour.  It currently functions as a girl’s hostel located at the cross section of Satyawati Marg and Bungalow Road in Kamla Nagar. The building showcases multiple features of the Art Deco Style Moderne including the continuous and rounded eyebrow, projecting roofs and cantilevers, curved balconies and geometric patterned window grills.  Vertical reeding bands running till the top of the building’s roof and plasterwork ornamentation detail below the entrance cantilever add to the finesse of the residence. In addition, the design of the main entrance and lastly the circular staircase newel makes this example true to the style in entirety.
