Golcha Cinema designed by W.M. Namjoshi is located in Daryaganj which was opened to the public on 12th December, 1954, serving as one of the most loved single screen cinemas and eventually closed in 2016. It still stands out prominently from the commercial establishments next to it, while walking down on Netaji Subhash Marg towards Urdu Bazar road. At Golcha Cinema, one can observe decorative Plaster of Paris false ceiling designs playing with curved geometries, as cove lighting and a complex design in the main auditorium. The side panels also take on a similar language, with an additional ornamental detail. Overall the use of a pastel pink and white can be seen in combination throughout the space.

Tropical Patterns
A combination of shapes taking inspiration from tropical elements of nature - fountains, waves can be spotted within metal grills of entrances and windows
Typography
Signages integrated in the building facade. Typically for cinemas and hotels, letters are placed on top of the facade, while in residences, terrazzo work generally helped integrate the text to the artwork, found over entrances
Vertical Reeding
Reeds are shallow inward divisions running as vertical bands along the building facade, generating a feeling of an upward motion on the central towers / main entrances of the buildings.
