Location : Paharganj

Patron : Maharashtra Government

Brihan Maharashtra Bhawan was established in the year 1951 as a travel, lodging and boarding in the neighbourhood of Paharganj. Although the exteriors of the building are predominantly in the Neo-Classical style, the entrance staircase can be seen highly influenced by the Art Deco style in terms of its continous curving form and colourful terrazzo laid flooring and steps. The patterns created in terrazzo have been done in a manner that they extend a continous carpet-like impression starting from the flooring wrapping along the length of the entire staircase, in invitation of sorts for the visitors.
