Aggarwals from Chandni Chowk

Shri Satya Narayan Aggarwal and Kailashwari Devi, owners of Kailash Sadan, started their journey from Etawah to Chandni Chowk, Delhi. Shri Satya Aggarwal, an electrical engineer manufacturing insulation rods for switch boards was a tenant at Jains of Katra Kushal Rai. Hazuri Lal, Moti Lal and Mistri Lal Jain were owners of the haveli who decided to sell off a part of their land facing a split in the family property. Seeing this as an opportunity to hold a place and their own house in the city, Satya Aggarwal bought the land and began the construction of their house, named after his wife Kailashwari. Their son and current occupant of Kailash Sadan, recalls his father bringing marble from Makrana for their entrance specially. He also accounts their architect, Om Prakash Goel, who had many projects in New Delhi, visiting his residence under construction on a scooter, a symbol of enough wealth for the times. The floors were done by Mistri Ram Prakash while Mishri Lal joined for plumbing works. Soon after, the neighborhood was known as Mathura ka Mohalla, as many Mathur’s started staying there, like Aggarwal’s next door neighbors.
